Honestly, If you haven't played before, play your first character through without boosting. Leveling to 80 isn't super difficult, and you get map progression and hero points. Most importantly, you learn how to play your character. Do your personal story, explore the world, do events. GW2 is a slow burn meant to be enjoyed.
WvW roaming builds are mostly self sufficient but look for combinations that complement eachother (for example one spec that provides stealth & cc and the other boons & cleanses) For pvp it's the same principle, but a roamer + sidenoder have the most carry potential. Posted February 24, 2020. Leveling guide: just do the map completion, press M and look for every missing PoI, heart, vista etc listed in the top left corner of the map. If you get bored, do literally anything else you want, because almost everything in the game gives you xp. 1.

Once past the tutorial area, enter the spvp area and give all the elite specializations a try (all of them are available even at level 2). Once you've found a class/elite you enjoy, start playing. Suggestion 1: don't boost. Suggestion 2: make a character you might be interested in.
