Versus Nikon Z 14-24/2.8. Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8. The Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 is much heavier and more than twice as expensive. It can't use filters unless you use the big included hood and whopping 112mm filters.
This time, the comparison is a lot closer. The Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S still blows away the 17-28mm f/2.8 in the center, reaching some of the highest values we’ve ever measured in a zoom. But in the midframe and corners, the 17-28mm f/2.8 holds its own, even beating the 14-24mm f/2.8 S depending on the aperture.

The Nikon Z 14-24mm f2.8 S clearly is the rightful successor to the legendary Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f2.8G as it is optically better in every aspect than the F-Nikkor except for Bokeh. And with 450g less weight to carry around and a set of nifty features Nikon has managed to create another worthy member for their trinity of professional f2.8 zoom

Now, to see what Nikon does with their forthcoming 14-24 2.8. It doesn't sound like it will be as lightweight as this, but as a flagship Nikon Z-mount lens, it'll undoubtedly be insanely sharp, and who knows, maybe its slightly larger size will allow better transmission/lower vignetting.

By Spencer Cox 75 Comments Last Updated On December 6, 2023 « » Nikon makes some seriously good ultra-wide lenses. The F-mount 14-24mm f/2.8 is often considered one of the best wide zooms ever, and the wide-angle Z lenses we’ve seen so far have also been fantastic. But how does the Nikon Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S compare? . 693 684 753 54 372 415 982 454
